Alternative Fuels Guide
Alternative fuels are the
future.
End of story.
Anyone who doesn't think so hasn't been paying
attention for the last 5 years. In the very near future, all
gasoline, all diesel fuel, meaning cars, trucks, buses, boats,
trains, planes, and any other form of transportation, not to
mention, generators, power plants, etc, are going to be run on
alternative fuels, or blends of alternative fuels. What does
this mean to you?
Plenty. It's going to change our way of
life.
One of the main benefits, besides being good
for the environment, is many fuels can be made at home. Imagine the freedom of
not being dependent on gas stations, on electric companies,
even oil companies.
This website is meant to take on a "walking
tour" of alternative fuels. We'll explore Electric cars, Ethanol, biodiesel, Hydrogen fuel, as well as, homemade fuel additives, and
fuel cell vehicles.
Alternative fuels, also known as non-conventional
fuels, are any materials or substances that can be used as a
fuel, other than conventional fuels.
Conventional fuels include: fossil fuels (petroleum
(oil), coal, propane, and natural gas), and also in some
instances nuclear materials such as uranium. Some well known
alternative fuels include biodiesel, bioalcohol (ethanol,
butanol), chemically stored electricity (batteries and fuel
cells), hydrogen, non-fossil methane, non-fossil natural gas,
vegetable oil and other biomass sources.
The main purpose of fuel is to store energy in a form that
is stable and can be easily transported from the place of
production to the end user which helps in many ways such as
transportation. Almost all fuels are Chemical fuels, that store
chemical potential energy. The end user is then able to consume
the fuel at will, and release energy, usually in the form of
heat for a variety of applications, such as powering an engine
or heating a building, such as a home.
Everyone consumes energy. The food you eat is nothing more
"fuel" for your body, which is then converted into "energy." In
a complex, inter-dependent world, all things require energy to
function.
However, the problem lies in the fact that we are running
out of conventional fuel and need to be looking at alternatives
fuels for new solutions. This website is all about offering you
new solutions. Take a look and free yourself ...
